Deborah’s Cottage Review

Immaculate and lovely home near Lake Junaluska was a great choice for our ladies weekend retreat/ reunion. Amenities included a hot tub , well stocked kitchen, screened porch, and cheery decor. It is also close to Cherokee, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and shopping in Waynesville and Maggie Valley. Will definitely recommend to family and friends!

Curt's Cabin |2 King Suites|Hot Tub|1 Level

ScottWe'd loved our stay at Curt's Cabin. It is a simple, four-room cabin but it has everything that our family of three needed for a wonderful weekend. Both bedrooms have king-sized beds with plenty of room, and both have separate full bathrooms. One of the bathrooms doubles as a well-appointed laundry room. The great room combines open, island kitchen with dining area and a very comfortable sitting area. There is a wonderful screen porch with entries from both bedrooms as well as the great room. There is a cozy hot tub on the porch, too! The cabin is tidy and efficient but had everything that we needed. There were lots of warm and snugly touches, too, like robes in every size in the bedroom closets and wonderfully soft bedding and towels. We arrived the day after Thanksgiving and Deborah's communication was timely and effective but not overbearing in any way – she gave us all the info that we needed or asked for and then let us enjoy our stay. The cabin was even lovingly decorated for Christmas when we arrived Friday afternoon! We can't wait to return and hope to do so someday soon!

Overall rating

This adorable little home is in a very quiet part of Waynesville, with everything you need to relax for a weekend or more. The main room is a great size, and we loved that the kitchen, large dining area and living room were all open to each other. We enjoyed using the hot tub every night and could imagine how nice it would be to use the screened-in porch in warmer weather. The bedrooms are well-sized, each with an attached bathroom, and the beds are SO comfortable (this from someone who can hardly sleep in her own bed). It takes about half an hour to get to the Asheville Outlets, the Biltmore, or Downtown Asheville, so if you're going to be spending a lot of time in Asheville, it is a bit of a drive to get there. We went to Asheville a couple of the days we stayed here and it we didn't mind the drive. We would love to stay at Curt's Cabin again, but next time, we may try Deborah's Cottage!

7 Things I love about Deborah’s Cottage

1. Covered porch along the back of the house and birds singing in the trees. 2. Comfortable beds in spacious rooms. 3. Great open floor plan for family gatherings. 4. Quiet neighborhood that seems remote, but is just minutes from Maggie Valley and Waynesville shopping. 5. Well equipped kitchen, that even includes a crock pot. 6. Master Suite, just steps away to the hot tub. We have stayed in vacation rentals around this area twice a year for the last 5 years, and never repeated a location. Deborah’s Cottage is the nicest place we’ve stayed.
