Deborah's Cottage was Amazing!

Deborah's Cottage was amazing! Deborah communicates very well - check-in/out were a breeze. Any questions we had, Deborah was very quick to respond. The hot tub was fabulous and a highlight of our trip! The entire space was so clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The location was great too -- about 20 minutes to Cataloochee Ski resort (where we skied) and 30 minutes to Asheville. If ever in the area again, will definitely be back!

This cottage was the best!

Of all of the homes we have stayed at over the years, this was the best. Deborah is a great host and the home was prepared perfectly.

Exceptional Stay!

Exceptional stay. Nice to have such a great home with AC during the hottest time of the year. I agree with all the reviews that say they experienced fantastic hospitality and thoughtfulness. Very convenient to the highway, but doesn't feel close at all. My 3 yr old daughter has already said she misses the cottage

Loved Deborah’s cottage!

We absolutely loved Deborah’s cottage! It felt like home the minute we stepped in. Everything was spotless & the kitchen was fully stocked. We enjoyed our coffee each morning on the patio & loved hearing & seeing the beautiful birds. We relaxed in the hot tub each night after hiking & it was so clean & hot. The beds were so comfy! We loved the neighborhood and it’s next to beautiful lake Junaluska. Deborah is wonderful and she was always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you Deborah for a wonderful stay! We can’t wait to come back!!

Hello!
My name is Deborah. My husband, Curt, and I are the owners and managers of Deborah's Cottage Rentals.
Curtis and I were childhood sweethearts who grew up in the Midwest. One year we sponsored our high school children's mission trip to the Appalachian Mountains. Once again, we were smitten. As soon as she graduated from high school we sold the family owned Christmas Tree Farm, quit our corporate jobs, and moved to Western North Carolina.
This is where the story begins.
As an educator and a musician, moving to North Carolina provided me many new opportunities. I developed and facilitated courses for the University of North Carolina. Next, I opened a private music studio and taught students of all ages how to play and perform multiple instruments. Now, I am what my children call, the “Momager.” I handle all aspects of the cottage/cabin rentals and manage the family.
Curt, coming from Illinois’s Natural Wildlife Department, earned his way to Director of Ground Operations at Biltmore Estate. He oversees many areas you enjoy during your visit. These include departments such as the field to table program, farm animals, crops, roads, estate landscape, and forestry.
When are not work focused we like to travel. I tend to migrate to the warmer climates while Curt dreams of Alaska.
Our world seems to revolve around our adult children and granddaughters. Shortly after we moved to North Carolina our family adopted two little girls. Just one more huge reason to know moving to the mountains was meant to be. Like all grandchildren, they have turned our world upside down.
